Bahawalpur Zoo was set up in the year 1942 and was established by the Nawab of Bahawalpur Nawab, Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi, the 5th Bahawalpur ruler of this state. also, the zoo was founded as a private collection of the Nawab of Bahawalpur. After, it was opened to the public.
